TRAVELER FORM: TERMS & CONDITIONS
PAYMENTS: All payments to Outlier Journeys should be viewed as nonrefundable unless expressly specified by your travel specialist in writing. In the event of trip cancellation we make every good faith effort to secure credit and apply this to a rescheduled trip, with travel dates occurring within one year of your originally scheduled departure, but this cannot be guaranteed. We are a small company crafting custom travel with a variety of vetted in-country partners; it's a time-intensive process, deposits are required to hold space and we feel strongly that everyone who works on your trip should be compensated fairly for their time. Trip insurance is strongly recommended and your travel specialist will send you a quote from our recommended insurance providers. Note that prices are not guaranteed until your reservations have been paid for in full and may change at any time until then due to matters beyond our control.
FORMS OF PAYMENT: Outlier Journeys accepts ACH Transfers, personal checks and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover). Please see
WAYS TO PAY for payment options and details. Trip arrangements cannot be confirmed until payment has cleared.
ITINERARY CHANGES: After an itinerary is agreed upon, deposited on and arrangements are confirmed, changes requested by the traveler will incur a $150 change fee per occurrence, as well as any cost increase associated with the request.NOTE: We do NOT apply change fees when the change is the result of an airline schedule change. In this case changes are subject to the Deposit and Final Payment Terms plus any cost increases. Travel and Trip Cancellation Insurance is strongly encouraged.
VISAS/PERMITS/ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Outlier Journeys will make travelers aware of the Visa, Permits and Entrance Requirements for all of the countries that you will be traveling to or transiting through, but ultimately it is the responsibility of each traveler to stay informed and ensure that they are in compliance with the requirements. Visas and entry requirements may vary depending on your nationality, the length of your stay and the purpose of your visit, among other factors. Visa information and visas can be obtained by contacting the Consulate or Embassy of the countries involved or you can contact a Visa Processing service. Ask your Outlier Journeys trip designer for recommendations. Please also ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months after the latest expected end date of your planned trip as some countries will not allow entry if your passport will expire sooner.
COVID-19: Travelers are responsible for understanding and complying with the various testing, vaccination, health form and quarantine requirements pertaining to the countries that they will be traveling or transiting through in regards to the ongoing Covid-19 global pandemic. Your Outlier Journeys trip planner will direct you to the most current information and can assist with arranging testing as needed, but ensuring compliance is the responsibility of the traveler. We can not be held responsible for any changes to your itinerary, including the inability for a traveler to embark on their trip or return home as scheduled, that occur as a result of failure to comply with regulations, the sudden change of regulations, contracting Covid-19 while traveling or falsification of vaccination information.
HEALTH & SAFETY: Travelers are responsible for determining what, if any, vaccinations or other health and safety precautions are necessary or recommended for their trip. We are not physicians and nothing we say should be interpreted as professional medical advise. Government health advisories are available online at the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. If you have any questions, please contact your physician or local travel clinic.
CANCELLATIONS: Each trip crafted by Outlier Journeys is custom designed. Typically a 25% deposit is required to confirm your arrangements and the balance is due 90-75 days prior to travel. All payments should be considered nonrefundable unless otherwise noted on your trip proposal and invoice. Cancellation penalties apply as soon as payment is received by Outlier Journeys. Please be advised that some reservations, regardless of proximity to your check-in date, are completely nonrefundable from the onset. Cancellations for any reason whatsoever, including medical reasons, death in the family, strikes, wars, acts of terrorism, weather, natural disasters, global pandemics, government travel warnings, changes in border and entry policies and airline or supplier default will not entitle you to any refund in the event of nonrefundable reservations. Travel and Trip Cancellation Insurance is therefore strongly recommended.
TRAVELER RESPONSIBILITY, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK: Outlier Journeys does not own or operate any of the travel services that we arrange on behalf of clients and cannot be held liable for issues or hazards that may arise. Each traveler must sign our Outlier Journeys Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk at the time of making their deposit. Final documents cannot be provided until this form has been signed electronically by all travelers, including parents or legal guardians on behalf of minors.
